Bernard Otterman 1937 - 2017

On Friday, November 17, 2017, Bernard Otterman was laid to rest surrounded by family, friends, and colleagues from around the world. A Holocaust survivor, mechanical engineer, real estate proprietor, novelist, and poet, Bernard lived a full and varied life.

His funeral service featured a poetry reading by his wife Sandra, eulogies from his brother Harry and children Sharon and Michelle, a short-story reading by son Michael, plus prayers and personal reflections by Rabbi Ira Ebbin of Congregation Ohav Sholom in Merrick, NY, and Rabbi Alan Lucas of Temple Beth Shalom in Roslyn, NY.
